Our Story
It all started in 1997
It all started in a home studio in a small town called Chilpancingo, Guerrero. With two little ones at home, Norma and Humberto created contracts with local universities, selling suits for law school graduates.
1998 - 2017
At Paul Steven, Norma and Humberto rented and sold suits, ties, cufflinks, and more. Humberto’s brother taught him how to make bespoke suits.
After moving to Chicago in 2001, Norma and Humberto worked in the alterations business for 8 years.
At the age of 15, Paul learned about the art of alterations in efforts to help his father, Humberto.
1998
Norma and Humberto opened their first shop in Mexico after meeting the high demand of their clients. They would name their shop after their first-born, Paul Steven.
2017
Paul Steven Opens in Chicago, IL
2017-2025
We have been grateful to serve the Chicagoland community and beyond for 7 years in our first shop in Chicago at 1702 w 47th Street. Thank you for trusting us with your most meaningful and delicate garments.
2025 & Beyond
We are excited to land at our new two-story location on 45th and Ashland. We honor the community that we have cultivated and aim to continue to provide excellent service for years to come. Thank you for helping us make our dreams come true!
